Thank you for considering Troop 377. As a member of our troop your son should benefit from:
Your son will enjoy meeting with the other scouts every Monday
night. Here, Scout leadership skills will be developed through interaction
with other Scouts. Your Scout will further learn organization and planning
skills by conducting and scheduling meetings and events.
Scouts are encouraged
to practice the principals of the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Motto, and
Scout Slogan. These life-tools will assist him in making moral and ethical
decisions that will provide guidance to your son throughout his life.
Your Scout will have frequent opportunities to earn merit badges and achieve
rank advancement, and wear the Scout uniform. This is important because
this recognition will help your son to develop a sense of accomplishment,
pride, team spirit, and respect as a person to be trusted.
While each Scout
develops at his own pace, historically those Scouts who have both attended
Summer Camps and achieved the rank of First Class by the end of their second
Summer Camp have a higher probability of becoming Eagle Scouts. Troop 377
has an excellent record of helping boys achieving the Eagle Scout rank.
As Scoutmaster, I always remember the words of the founder
of Boy Scouts: “Scouting is a game with a
purpose. FUN is the game, Values is the purpose. Learning is the process.”

Robert Baden-Powell
